Edvin Pezo studied History of Eastern and Southeastern Europe, Modern History and Economic Geography in Munich (M.A. 2001). He obtained his PhD from the Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena. During the years before he was research assistant at the Südost-Institut (2001–2003/project: Ethnodoc) as well as at the Center for Applied Policy Research in Munich (2005–2008/project: Captive States, Divided Societies). From 2008 to 2010 he was research assistant at the University of Regensburg. Since April 2010, he has been working at the Südost-Institut / Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in Regensburg as editor and coordinator of a handbook-project (Handbook on the History of Southeast Europe).
